• This PRIVACY POLICY outlines the Policies for End-Users/Customers of “Happy-Computing.Net/Happy Computing”, to protect the privacy of those End-Users/Customers while utilizing the Happy-Computing.Net website and/or “REMOTE COMPUTER SUPPORT SERVICES”, “ON-SITE SOFTWARE AND HARDWARE SERVICES”, and “IN-SHOP SOFTWARE AND HARDWARE SERVICES”. It is hereby determined that "REMOTE COMPUTER SUPPORT SERVICES" and “ON-SITE SOFTWARE AND HARDWARE SERVICES”, and “IN-SHOP SOFTWARE AND HARDWARE SERVICES” are defined as "secure remote End-User/Customer Computer/Device Support and Repair Services", “onsite Software and Hardware Computer/Device services at End-User’s/Customer’s site”, and “In-Shop Software and Hardware Services Computer/Device Services”, conducted either via secure Internet Connection and Telephone, or in person On-Site at End-Users’/Customers’ site, or In-Shop at the "Happy-Computing.Net/Happy Computing" physical Workshop. Submitting of End-User’s/Customer’s personal, unique information on this Website constitutes acceptance of this Privacy Policy.

1. INFORMATION COLLECTION AND USE: “Happy-Computing.Net/Happy Computing” is the sole owner of any information collected through this Website, and/or via telephone, and/or via Email, and/or via “Happy-Computing.Net/Happy Computing” Computer/Device Repair Estimate forms. “Happy-Computing.Net/Happy Computing” will not ever give, sell, or rent this information to anyone except legally authorized Law Enforcement.

   a. Personal Information: “Happy-Computing.Net/Happy Computing” will ask End-Users/Customers when information that personally identifies them (personal information) and allows “Happy-Computing.Net/Happy Computing” to contact them is needed. In order to receive services from “Happy-Computing.Net/Happy Computing” COMPUTER SUPPORT SERVICES, End-Users/Customers may be required to pay in advance for the type of service desired prior to beginning of service. End-Users/Customers may be required to give their personal user contact information (such as First and Last Name, Email address, Postal Address, personal identifier etc.) in order for “Happy-Computing.Net/Happy Computing” to perform needed Service. Only “Happy-Computing.Net/Happy Computing” will use End-User’s/Customer's personal user contact information details to interact with End-User/Customer regarding product(s) and/or services End-User/Customer has requested and purchased. At times “Happy-Computing.Net/Happy Computing” may contact End-Users/Customers with other communications such as surveys on improving End-User/Customer Service.

   b. Payment Information: “Happy-Computing.Net/Happy Computing” uses the third party vendor, “Stripe” to process and verify debit and credit cards for payment purposes in the processing of all electronic payment transactions for COMPUTER SUPPORT SERVICES provided. Using this third-party payment processor shields personal client information related to the transaction. When processing a payment transaction, “Happy-Computing.Net/Happy Computing” will obtain information relating to the COMPUTER SUPPORT SERVICE(S) that it was processed for, the amount of the payment and other transaction data, such as date of transaction, and End-User’s/Customer's first and last name. All other information which the third party “Stripe” requires to authorize the transaction (such as End-User’s/Customer's name, credit card number, expiration date and billing address) pertaining to either Debit or Credit card utilized for the transaction, is not seen or retained by “Happy-Computing.Net/Happy Computing” and Is transferred to “Stripe” using their secure payment portal, and for the purpose of completing the payment processing.

   c. Computer System Information: “Happy-Computing.Net/Happy Computing” in the performance of our FREE DIAGNOSIS and/or COMPUTER SUPPORT SERVICES will ask for information relating to End-User’s/Customer's Devices such as: date of purchase, make & model of equipment (i.e. 2018 “Apple® MacBook Pro”; 2020 HP Tower), serial number identification, any hardware or peripherals attached (i.e. printer, scanner), Operating System (OS) Software, and other Software, physical condition of the equipment, registry data concerning software installs and hardware configurations, and error tracking files. This information is necessary in order for “Happy-Computing.Net/Happy Computing” to provide the best, most-personalized technical support to our End-Users/Customers and is never disclosed to any third party.

   d. Diagnostic Tools: During a “Happy-Computing.Net/Happy Computing” FREE REMOTE COMPUTER SUPPORT SERVICES DIAGNOSIS a variety of information about the state of a computer system and the software applications on it will be collected and assessed. This information is sent Securely over the Internet to the “Happy-Computing.Net/Happy Computing” Service Technician who analyzes it to diagnose and solve End-User’s/Customer's Device issues. Information collected by the “Happy-Computing.Net/Happy Computing” Service Technician diagnostic tools (applications) will not contain any sensitive information such as Websites visited, E-Mails, E-Mail Addresses, Passwords, End-User/Customer Profiles, and etcetera. Use of the Remote Secure Computer Connection and Diagnosing Applications are also subject to the Terms of Use in their respective software license agreements.

   e. Cookies: A cookie is a message given to a Web Browser from a Web Server. The Browser stores the message in a text file. The main purpose of Cookies is to identify users and possibly prepare customized Web pages for them. Usage of a cookie is in no way linked to any personally identifiable information while on the“Happy-Computing.Net/Happy Computing” website and cannot infringe the privacy of End-Users/Customers.

   f. Log Files: “Happy-Computing.Net/Happy Computing” uses IP addresses to analyze trends, administer the site, track user movement, and gather broad demographic information to better serve End-Users/Customers.

   g. Children’s Policy: No part of the “Happy-Computing.Net/Happy Computing” Website is structured to attract anyone under the age of 18. In accordance with the "Children’s Privacy Protection Act", “Happy-Computing.Net/Happy Computing” does not collect or maintain information at this Website from, or sell products to, those known to be under the age of 18. A Parent or Guardian must assist anyone under the age of 18 in using the Services available from “Happy-Computing.Net/Happy Computing”.  No Service will be provided to anyone under Legal Age to Contract.

When an ONLINE REMOTE COMPUTER SUPPORT SERVICES End-User/Customer submits sensitive information via this Website, that End-User/Customer information is protected both online and offline by the The “Happy-Computing.Net/Happy Computing” Website Hosting Server where the “Happy-Computing.Net/Happy Computing” Website html pages are stored. Any personally identifiable End-User/Customer information is kept in a secure environment, with hard copy backups stored in the “Happy-Computing.Net/Happy Computing” locked office files. In situations that are required by Law, “Happy-Computing.Net/Happy Computing” may disclose information about our End-Users/Customers to Law-Enforcement Officers.

It is each individual End-User’s/Customer’s responsibility to refer to the “Happy-Computing.Net/Happy Computing” Privacy Policy before submitting any information on the “Happy-Computing.Net/Happy Computing” Website. Submitting information after any changes to the posted Privacy Policy constitutes acceptance by the End-Users/Customers of the “Happy-Computing.Net/Happy Computing” Website posted changes.

• Cancellation Policies

On-Site Service — On-site Services must be cancelled no later than 24 hours before the scheduled service appointment. All On-Site service appointments which are not cancelled 24 hours prior to the scheduled appointment will incur a $150.00 non-cancellation penalty, which must be paid up front in full before any work is begun and/or Services are completed by "Happy-Computing.Net/Happy Computing" .

Remote Computer Services via Internet — "Happy-Computing.Net/Happy Computing" requests 24 hours advance notification of Cancellation. Appointments will be rescheduled on a first come, first served basis.

FREE Diagnosis and Troubleshooting — Free 30 Minute Diagnosis, available through REMOTE, ONSITE, and IN-SHOP COMPUTER/DEVICE SERVICES.

Business Hours — Open: Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.  Closed: Thanksgiving Eve, Day, and Weekend, Christmas Eve and Day, New Year's Eve and Day, Good Friday through Easter Sunday, and all Federal Holidays.

Discounts — Available to Senior Citizens age 65 and over, and all Wimer/Rogue River Residents a 10% discount on all Labor services, Remote Online, On-site and In-Shop services. Discounts cannot be combined.  No Discount available for Commercial/Business customers.

Service Fees ­— Payment is Due at Completion of Service(s).
Remote Computer Software & Hardware  Services: $125.00 per Hour;
   (1/2 Hour Minimum)
On-Site Computer Software & Hardware Services: $180.00 per Hour,
   (1 Hour Minimum)
In-Shop Computer Software & Hardware Services: $140.00 per Hour;
   (1 Hour Minimum)

Acceptable forms of Payment — Payment can be made in either Cash, Postal Money Orders, local Bank-issued and/or Credit Union issued personal checks, and Travelers checks. Payments made via Debit or Credit Cards will be invoiced via Email and processed on-line through "Stripe".

• PROCEDURES: Limitations of Liability

Legal Owner’s Consent to Remote Computer/Device Diagnosis and Troubleshooting; On-Site Computer/Device Diagnosis and Troubleshooting; and/or In-Shop Computer/Device Diagnosis and Troubleshooting — By scheduling a Remote Computer/Device Diagnosis and Troubleshooting Appointment, or an On-Site Computer/Device Diagnosis and Troubleshooting Appointment, or an In-Shop Computer/Device Diagnosis and Troubleshooting Appointment with "Happy-Computing.Net/Happy Computing" online computer services at www.happy-computing.net, it is understood that the Legal Owner has given their authorization to "Happy-Computing.Net/Happy Computing" and the Service Technician to perform a Computer/Device Diagnostic Evaluation and any necessary troubleshooting measures on the computer/device Software and/or Hardware indicated by Legal Owner when scheduling their Computer/Device Diagnosis and Troubleshooting session appointment. Legal Owner agrees that this Diagnosis is for the purpose of determining the cause of computer/device malfunction and performance issues, and to establish the necessary steps needed to repair and/or service specified computer/device. In no case will repairs and/or service be begun without prior authorization from Owner or Owner’s Agent.

Legal Owner’s Responsibility prior to Secure Remote Online, or On-Site, or In-Shop Computer Device Diagnosis and/or Computer Services — Legal Owner understands and agrees that it is their responsibility to back-up their data prior to the "Happy-Computing.Net/Happy Computing" Technician performing a Diagnostic Analysis and/or Computer Service(s) on subject Device. This means all data, software, music, photos, "information" or any other files stored on subject Device(s) hard disk drive(s), and/or on any other storage devices they may have. Legal Owner also acknowledges and agrees that "Happy-Computing.Net/Happy Computing" shall not be responsible under any circumstance at any time during either the Diagnostic and Troubleshooting session and/or Computer Services session for any loss, alteration, or corruption of any data, files, "information", and/or software stored on their computer's hard disk drive(s) and/or on any other storage devices they may have.

Legal Right to Access & Install Device Software during a Remote Online, or On-Site, or In-Shop Computer/Device Diagnosis and/or Computer Service(s) — If any aspect of the Remote Online, On-Site, or In-Shop Computer Service being performed by the "Happy-Computing.Net/Happy Computing" Service Technician involves accessing or transferring data, software, music, "information" or any other files stored on the hard disk drive(s) and/or on any other storage devices of the computer device being serviced, Legal Owner/Agent represents that they themselves have the legal right to access, copy, and/or use any such data and to permit "Happy-Computing.Net/Happy Computing" and its Technician to do so on their behalf, and authorize such use by the "Happy-Computing.Net/Happy Computing" Service Technician conducting the Remote Online, or On-Site, or In-Shop Computer Service session. Legal Owner/Agent also agrees that if any Secure Remote Online, or On-Site, or In-Shop Computer Service appointment involves installing software on the hard disk drive(s) and/or on any other storage device of the computer device being serviced during a scheduled Remote, or On-Site, or In-Shop Computer/Device Service appointment, they have the legal right to agree to the terms of any applicable software license and authorize the "Happy-Computing.Net/Happy Computing" Service Technician to accept such terms on their behalf in performance of these Remote Online, or On-Site, or In-Shop Computer Services.

Limitations to Remote Online, On-Site, or In-Shop Computer/Device Diagnosis and/or Services — The "Happy-Computing.Net/Happy Computing" Service Technician reserves the right to refrain from providing any or all requested or diagnosed computer services on the basis that the minimum system requirements (Windows© 7 and/or Apple© Macintosh© OS Lion) are not met, or software, passwords, key codes, or other necessary information and/or equipment is not available at the time of the scheduled service, or, other requirements of the End User/Customer are unusual, or extensive, and beyond the scope of the originally scheduled Remote Online, On-Site, or In-Shop Computer Service Session, as reasonably determined by the "Happy-Computing.Net/Happy Computing" Service Technician.

Limitation Of And Release Of Liability — By signing the document entitled "LEGAL OWNER/AGENT’S AUTHORIZATION AND CONSENT TO SPECIFIC DEVICE DIAGNOSIS, AND/OR SERVICE, AND/OR REPAIR" prior to the commencement of services by the "Happy-Computing.Net/Happy Computing" Service Technician, Legal Owner or Owner’s Agent affirmatively releases and holds harmless "Happy-Computing.Net/Happy Computing"and its Service Technician from and against any loss, liability, or damage that Legal Owner or Owner’s Agent may suffer, including but not limited to the loss of any data and/or the non-functioning of any component or element of the computer/device identified during the scheduling of the Remote Online, On-site, Or In-Shop Service appointment, which results from any action taken by "Happy-Computing.Net/Happy Computing"and its Service Technician in performing the action of authorized Diagnosis and/or Computer Device Services.

Legal Owner or Owner’s Agent further acknowledges that under no circumstances shall "Happy-Computing.Net/Happy Computing" and its Service Technician be liable to Legal Owner or Owner’s Agent or any other person for any damages, including without limitation, any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, expenses, costs, lost profits, lost savings or earnings, lost or corrupted data, or other liability arising out of, or related to, the services provided by "Happy-Computing.Net/Happy Computing" and its Service Technician, or out of the installation, deinstallation, use of, or inability to use the computer/device and any associated networks, (identified during the course of appointment scheduling of the Remote Online, or On-Site, or In-Shop Computer/Device Service appointment), which result from the services provided by "Happy-Computing.Net/Happy Computing" and its Service Technician to Legal Owner or Owner’s Agent or any other person or their business. "Happy-Computing.Net/Happy Computing" and its Technician will under no circumstances be liable for any special, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from services provided, including but not limited to costs of recovering any program or data, or any loss of business, profits, and/or revenue.
